Neutral sites and bowl appearances aside, I have only been to one true road game, and if at least two Tennessee Vols and some Alabama fans have anything to do with it, it will probably be my last. The year was 2006, and the Crimson Tide would enter an obnoxiously orange Neyland Stadium with 5-2 record (that’s right, NCAA, I’m not vacating any wins) with all the potential for a respectable follow-up to the previous year’s 10-2 finish. There are some Bama-Ole Miss personal memories I could recount here, but my brother and one of his buddies hates Ole Miss way more than I do. So I’ll share their story here instead. For those who know my brother, they know that he can barely put two sentences together on paper. Actually, that’s an overstatement.
