Bama Proves Backups Are Pretty Good

Despite being on the road (traveling to Tuscaloosa for the Bama-North Texas game), I was able to keep up with many of the bigger games this weekend. As schedules move into conference play, we’re going to know more and more about a lot of teams. Finally, we know a little more about some of the question marks after Saturday.

Florida is a little overrated. If Tennessee can hold them to only a 10-point margin of victory, I believe the Gators are beatable. Since the (only)-three-time national champions won, I’m sure we’ll soon see footage of some impassioned Tebow speech that help lift the team to victory. Blah, blah, blah. I was cheering for neither team. How does a Bama fan (or any other) pick the lesser of the two evils? You don’t. Your options are a) tie; b) the world to end; or c) Tebow to be injured. If C happens, then you can kind of cheer for Florida. Or not. Usually my rule is you cheer for the lower ranked team, so as to (more…)
