Remember December 2006 when then-West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez was offered the top job at Alabama? And he turned it down?

Granted, he WAS successful among the lightly regarded football powers of the Big East, as compared with the SEC. But HE turned ALABAMA DOWN?

Richie Rich Blue Over Players' Allegations

Current and former players coached by Michigan’s Rich Rodriguez took the driver’s seat in making allegations that they practiced too long, breaking NCAA rules and effectively throwing their leader under the bus. Just when Michigan was about to wipe the slate clean, shaking off losses in recent seasons to Appalachian State and Toledo, to get the annual chance to start anew. Part of me wonders whether these “current and former players” were West Virginia fans who infiltrated Ann Arbor to gather information to take down Richie Rich. Bama By a Landslide

Recently, I found a segment on Rivals.com called “The Edge.” This particular installment compared Alabama and West Virginia. My first question is, “Is this really a question?” With my sincerest apologies to Nick Saban, who hails from the state, the only WVU alum and Mountain State native (though he might not take offense because he’s a Marshall fan) I know, below are the comparisons between the two schools and my commentary on each:
